Here in the South there isn't much that beats football season. It feels like the turn of the year, and the start of all that comes with holiday celebrations. While there is nothing quite like being in the stands of your teams home games, there is also so much to love about crowding around the TV with your friends for an intimate watch party.
I love hosting groups large and small for a fun day of college football. Here are some of my tips to making your viewing parties seamless and enjoying the day with friends:
- Keep The Food Simple - We all love the traditional game day treats: dips, chips, and a serving of meat. I think having smaller, grazing style food is perfect for people getting up and down during commercials to replenish. I also like having multiple stations of food in various areas of the house so its easy to go from place to place.
- Drinks Are Important - If you are throwing a larger watch party I think springing for a bar set up and a bar tender is such a great way to ensure the day goes smoothly. Even if you are simply offering wine and beer, it is so nice to have someone there to serve and replenish for you.
- Decor Can Still Make The Day - I know it sounds silly to focus on decor for a football party, but adding moments of your teams colors throughout the house makes such a difference. Add linens under your food scape, or a few cocktail tables with flowers out in the yard for outside viewing.
I hope your football season is full of wins and stunning times!
