Here For The Holidays

This is by far my favorite time of year. The excuse to visit loved ones and hang holiday decor. To make the extra batch of cookies with my grandma. Spend a little more time slowing down and enjoying the beauty around me.

It should come as no shock that I love any excuse to be festive. Though I know that is not the case for everyone. May it be that you have poor memories associated with the holidays. Or as I hear many moms say, they spend the entire season trying to make it special for their families only to feel resentment at the end.

And while I know it is so much easier said than done, I hope this year is different for you all. I hope you take a moment to enjoy the magic that is taking place. May it be that you buy yourself a festive mug and spend 5 minutes each morning on your back porch soaking up the cooler weather. Or throwing on a holiday jazz station while you work through the chores. That you find a way to laugh at the chaos that tends to be photos with Santa. Or even something as simple as putting down a pretty tray with a cup of spiced cider each night to wind down with.

Because at the end of the day, this is what Lived X Leigh is all about. Finding joy in the smallest moments. Allowing the details to spark a found memory, or open the door for a new one to be made. After all, shouldn't we all be granted the little joys of a magical life?
