Summer in Texas has always been a catch 22 for me. On one hand I am so excited for longer days of sunlight to enjoy dinners on patios and sip cocktails from a roof top. And then I step outside where the fear of sticky hair and sweat stains quickly set in...
This summer however, I have decided to embrace it all. I want to get out and enjoy this town I call home. Spend days soaking up the sun and company of great friends. I want to pack up a picnic and enjoy the shaded trees. And while doing so, I of course want it all to be aesthetically curated!
Here are some tips to having a picnic you will truly enjoy:
1. Make sure your bag has shoulder straps. For years I carried a true wicker picnic basket, and while it was adorable in photos, having to lug it by hand to my destinations always put my in a less than thrilled mood. Switching to a bag with shoulder straps, like the Bogg, has been a game changer in stressing less from the start.
2. Buy containers that fit. If you have a circular bag get circular containers, and same with a square option. This helps make transport easier and stacking containers at the end even better. I personally like to keep one set of Tupperware just for packing so they don't get lost or mixed in with the others.
3. A cute napkin can set the mood. I know that sounds silly, but having a curated set of disposable napkins is a simple way to elevate your picnic scape and give that extra touch.
4. And last but absolutely not least, bring a hand fan! I can not stress enough the difference a small fan can make in you having a pleasant time out in this Texas heat. A simple rechargeable option is perfect for day events.
May your next picnic be the best one yet!
