Curate Your Drinks

How many times have you been minutes away from guest showing up at your home and it dawns on you that you didn't think about the cups! You have a stunning mixed cocktail, but nothing to pour it in besides your kids plastic sippy.

Drinks are a part of events I often times find get over looked, and one that I feel can make a great impact. Here are three tips to maxing out your design with drinks:

1. Make Sure You Have The Right Glassware - Now, before you start seeing dollar signs, it doesn't all have to be the best crystal. But having the right glass ware for the drinks you plan to serve is a simple way to elevate your event. I love surfing thrift stores for unique glasses and holding a small collection for whatever occasion might arise.

2. Add Ice With A Flare - I am a huge fan of these stainless steel ice cubes. They are great for a guys night or for your whisky drinking friends, and the technology allows for less sweating which means less mess! Keeping a set or two in the freezer has also saved me time and time again for simple girls nights when the drinks keep coming and we run low on fridge ice.

3. Don't Forget About The Accoutrements - And last but not least, I simply love my accoutrements. There are so many simple ways to dress up a drink that take no time at all. I love dried fruit slices from Trader Joe's during the summer and whole cranberries in the winter. Both preserve well and look great in cocktails. I even throw the dried oranges on the rim on my mocktails at night.

I hope these tips help make your next event easier, and more curated. And as the cocktail napkins say, Cheers to you all!
