Do you have a gift you've cherished for years? One that just fits ever so perfectly into your life. Maybe it is a journal that you received in a time where writing helped you through. Or a piece of jewelry handed down from your grandma worn on special occasions.
From a little something on a whim, to the biggest moments in life. Gifts are a way to lock in a memory worth recalling over and over again.
But gift giving can often times feel like a daunting task. Finding the perfect gift adds a lot of pressure to your plate. Here are my go to rules for helping make the perfect gifting choice:
1. Be Mindful - The first step to finding the perfect gift is to be mindful of who it is for. Gifts don't have to be expensive to be meaningful. What is something the gift receiver used to love as a kid? What is their favorite activity or musician? Little things add up to memorable moments.
2. The Rule of Thirds - I feel like this is my rule for just about everything. When setting a table use three elements of height. When Making florals use three types of flower. So it is no different with gifting. Find three smaller items to amount to a full gift. This helps make room for telling a story with your gift and giving background to the choices.
3. Wrapping Matters - The way you wrap your gift matters. It is the first thing they see and sets the tone for what is inside. Though I don't encourage spending as munch on the wrapping as you did on the gift, even the gesture or wrapping the gift in news paper for someone receiving a book or likeminded item goes a long way.
